WARNING! Dangerous Fake Firefox "update" download!

Please read the following:

There is a site that is trying to get ignorant surfers to download a FAKE Firefox update!

Please warn everyone you can about this. This fake update is really dangerous! Only download updates from the browser it self. Find the updates in the drop-down next to the address bar and click the question mark, chose "About Firefox" then it will update.

When downloading Firefox all updates are set on automatic. That is why you are not told about them. To change this Click on Tools > Options > Advanced > click the Updates tab > Firefox Updates: select 'Automatically install updates. If you want to know when you get updates choose: 'Check for updates but let me choose weather to install them.'

Both are good, don't put off doing updates for to long as it is a security risk. Never ever update any program of yours except from the official site! Consider all other updates for your programs on non official sites to be cloaked computer viruses/worms intent on melting your computer to the ground. Or if your really lucky a hacker will come in through that bogus "update" and you'll become a victim of identity theft!

Be highly suspicious of anything strange that shows up when surfing these exchanges! Be safe, stay smart, report attack sites, and get that traffic! =D

Tip Of The Day:

At some point you ae going to run into a site trying to break the frames by re-directing the url to another site. How do they get in the exchanges in the first place? Only thing I can think of is that they add in the JavaScript code to re-direct after they are approved. Teach these s.o.b's a lesson! 

How to report a re-directing site when the timer is at 2s or less and has a dang message box:

Press Tab on your keyboard until the button that says "stay on page" is highlighted. Now move your mouse to the report link/button, do not click just yet.

Press Enter on your your keyboard with your main hand and with your other hand click the report button, on twistrix exchange make sure you click the report link at least twice (quickly! This is why I have not put them in here yet as they are over run with sites trying to break the frame.

a thing to remember about some exchange frames is sometimes they will get stuck with no web site shown so check on them often and refresh the tab so the surf bar starts up again. Not sure if this is caused by a site stopping the timer or just a bad frame code. With no site showing am assuming it is the frame. (hitbots does this i should send a email to them soon.)

Tested this one for several hours, no re-directs, no message boxes and free members get loads of perks! Surfing: Auto, manual, & hover! When a member joins in your downline, up to 1 levels deep! Speedy Auto hits Free traffic Exchange !

Worst "auto" exchange i have found yet: saturation traffic they have a limit of 800 pages you can surf a day. Wait? What? Not much of an auto surf. You can tell a book by its cover looks like. :P But then the job of this blog is to test out exchanges. I think true auto exchanges should change their name to auto perpetual motion exchanges or A.P.M.E. To differentiate them self's from the ones that are not. Just a thought there.

Granted all exchanges sometimes stop but it is unintentional by the owner of the exchange. When it is purposely stopped by the exchange owner then they do not have a true auto exchange.

Tip Of The Day:

Did you know you can load all of the exchanges you have signed up for at once? And have them all going at the same time in one browser window?

What you do not want to do is load several pages of the same exchange that is a good way to get banned fast! But several separate exchange surfing bars at once? Yes!

To do this safely you will need to consider installing the following:
 
1. A high quality anti virus. I recommend AVG Internet Security, its about 30.00$ some dollars a year. You can not surf these exchanges with out it. It will keep any site that is maleficent from infecting your computer. 

2. Ccleaner - It will make your computer faster and more secure. read this: http://www.appwikia.com/windows-apps/ccleaner-protect-your-privacy-online-and-make-your-computer-faster-and-more-secure/

Download this little gem here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner 
pritform is the company name if you at some later time need to re install Ccleaner make sure its says piriform! When downloading it go slow and uncheck the stupid google chrome offer you don't want anything to do with that, trust me google toolbar loves to track you and find ways to annoy you when your surfing.

Ok now start Ccleaner and click the application tab uncheck Sessions. If you clean that out you will lose all of your tabs when you re-load Firefox! Now close your browser and click run cleaner. When that is done choose on the left side were it says Registry.  Do not let Ccleaner make a back up. Click fix selected issues, then when the pop up shows up click fix all issues. 

It would be a good idea to go make a save point in system restore. Just so you don't lose all your hard work! You never know a freak power surge could come along and wipe out all the time you spent on this. Now reboot your computer, come back and finish this guide. Or before restarting copy paste all of this and print it out.

4. The browser called Internet Explorer is like surfing in a boat full of holes! Everything gets though it. For this to work and to keep your computer running clean, fast and safe. Get one of these browsers as they have have protection codes built in:

Firefox - this is the one this guide will be aimed at.

Goggle Chrome - I used this fora  while when Firefox was buggy its very good. Stopped using it when it became buggy (lol) This happens every couple of years or so, usually when ether one updates.

4. Stop! Before you do anything after downloading  go here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

5. Download the following addons for for ironclad surfing as possible:

1. Adblock Plus 2.6.3 - must have

2. NoScript 2.6.8.29 - must have 

3. BetterPrivacy 1.68

4. Facebook Phishing Protector

5. Flashblock 1.5.17

6. WOT (webs of trust) - must have

Install all of these then restart Firefox. If you do not like how the tabs behave install this addon also: Classic Theme Restorer with  it you can make the tabs go on the bottom , take away the transparency make them square again and more. 

Now it is time to fiddle with Firefox to optimize surfing all the exchanges at once.

Right click the browser bar (above were the htpp address is).
Move your mouse around and keep right clicking until you see the customize option.

Take off or add things until your happy with the browser. Tip: if the address bar is to long add in a few space squares between the buttons in-front of and behind the address bar.

Now above the address bar right click and then left click Menu bar from the drop down list. Ah now this looks more what your familiar with right?

7. Click Tools > Options > General > start-up. "When Firefox starts: Show my windows and tabs from last time. Set your home page to what you want (I like yahoo)

8. Tabs > check mark: Open new windows in a new tab instead (very important do not skip this one!) Warn me when closing multiple tabs. Warn me when opening multiple tabs might slow down Firefox. And Don't load tabs until selected.

9. Content > Check-mark, "block pop up windows" 

10. Privacy > Tracking > Select: Tell sites I do not want to be tracked. Now in History > Firefox will > Select: "Use custom settings for history" Check mark: Remember my browsing and download history, remember search and forum history, accept cookies from sites. 

In Accept third party cookies Never is safest but a pain so I use from visited. Keep until: I close Firefox is the safest but a pain so I chose "they expire." Above all else keep the remember my browsing and remember search and forum history or Firefox will not bring back your tabs that you were using when you close it. 

Once in a blue moon a site will cause Firefox to crash (so far this s year 0 times :) ) so you really want those check-marked. As you have just download the browser feel free to fiddle with the cookie settings to your likening.

Temporary check-mark: Clear History when Firefox closes. Now click settings and check mark  the fire options in History. This will make things safer if you decide to allow 3rd party cookies.

11. Security > check mark the first three ones. I do not advise having Firefox remember your passwords as that is a high security risk.

12. Advanced > General tab >  Browsing check mark: All, but the top one. I am wary of making Firefox the default browser. I think windows explorer would have an issue with it at some point. Pretty much my thinking is you can add stuff to windows/explorer but do no override anything. 

13. Click Data Choices, personally I have "enable Firefox health report" and nothing else. 

14. Update tab > Firefox updates: Choose auto install updates, check mark warn me if this will disable, check-mark use a background service to install updates (if a slow pc don't check-mark this.) 

15. Click okay! 

WHEW yes that was a lot of work, but now the fun part! Go and find lots of auto exchanges I recommend the ones in my exchange testing blog as I have tested them for message boxes, frame breakers, what sites they allow and such. Log in to all of these have all of them in separate tabs. Put the same url into each of them. I recommend  joining from 5 to 10 exchanges each. You could try this with manual exchanges too but boy what a headache! 

Now when you click on the button in the sites to surf. Bookmark the surf bar once it loads. Make a folder in the Bookmark list and move all the bookmarked frame urls into the bookmark folder. I advise making it: 000AAutoExchanges and the next one 001AutoExchanges and so on as you need them.  

Now here is the fun part. If you decided to close all the tabs before closing Firefox all you have to do is open up your book marks right click the folder and pick "Open all into tabs" and whoosh! they all load and you are really surfing now. 

All you have to do is check on them every few mine to make sure the frames did not get stuck, a message box popped up, or one got re-directed. 

So auto exchanges are not totally auto you have to keep an eye on them.  Along with this surveillance, you can find some really cool exchanges advertised in them. And some very interesting regular sites that are fun (like say a new gaming website) 

I have read some negative websites and what they have had to say about  auto exchange traffic being worth less then manual exchanges. Think bout it they are bored, tired of clicking and stop after a while to save their sore fingers! And quantity can trump quality if the amount goes up high enough. 

Then if you think a bout it. The massive numbers does become quality traffic as say (a million) people have seen your website. And from what I read on the pro-auto exchanges they get a 10% click rate. That means that 100,000 of that million clicked your links, banners, and affiliate links! Excited yet?

At some that point manual clickers are sick to death of surfing. They do not give a fig about any website and just want to stop to take a break. They sure as heck don't want to click on any thing in your website after all of that! Right?

Auto exchange surfers that have been doing this for a while, are still fresh and more willing to click to visit your website if it interests them. And people do! My e-book went from 170 readers to 1,187 in the past month. That my not be much but at least its going up and people are reading it so I don't care how slowly it goes up. I'm glad to get some readers along with hopefully entertaining a few people. 

I can not directly advertise it as wattpad wraps their members story's in iframes. Or it could because the promotional code is an iframe. Regardless  exchanges will not allow wattpad at all.

Unless you get smart and put it on your website as a link that opens up into a new window :) Pretty much passing the problem. Nice and allowed and some visitors that way. (All exchanges care is that the surf bar is not stopped, or broken, re-directed in any way.)

Please consider looking around other peoples sites that are shown. Or signing up under some ones referral link. Or buy some guys funny t-shirt. Read a newbie authors e-story (winks) For these exchanges to keep working we have to be willing actually look at the websites. Who know you might find that deal you were looking for that you could not get from the regular online stores. 

Ok back to joining and testing out exchanges. This is my new list of what I test out.

1. surf bar - does it break often? Contact the exchange owner wait a few days if they do not fix it quit.

2. surf bar - 500 redirects driving me insane. Contact the exchange owner, if they refuse to acknowledge the problem then quit.

3. Does the surf bar keep going buy it self to the report site page? Humm ok. WEIRD. 

4. Does the exchange bar beak away and land on its own upgrade page? - Wow. Just wow. That is just sad.

5. Oh message box built in to the surf bar asking if you want to leave the page. At first I was clueless to this and though the websites I was viewing were the cause. But eventually realized that it was the auto exchange owner that had put that in to stop re-directs. Ha ha. I'd really appreciate it if the title of the message box was changed to:

This site is trying to re-direct, please report to (add auto exchange name here.) 

People are not going to know what your thinking so when adding in a message box into yo your surf bar coding make it obvious that you put that in. Otherwise people will think its another annoyance caused buy a cheating web site.

Oh I forgot, Firefox comes really in hand for this problem. As some surf bars override the sites url when checking the sites properties. Then quickly pause the surf bar, right click on any link (image links too!)

Then choose "copy link location" edit the links so it is going to just the main page of the offending web site, if needed. Report the s.o.b's!
The webmasters of the surf exchanges some times will give you 500 free credits as a thank you. ^_^ That is so thoughtful!

Some times some exchange owners will not even acknowledge that the site you reported was a problem. If this happens a few times leave as you are in a fake auto exchange were a few people have collaborated to together to get hits to their site's. Of course they are not going to get rid of any of the sites that cause problems. There are a lot of poor exchanges I've had to wade though to get to the great ones. 

And that's why I made this site to save you the aggravation, and save your time. If I get a few referrals along the way great.

Oh frustrating the exchanges that I want to show you well the links are broken. I'll go and contact the site owner about this, check back later. I'll show another that has passed my testing. Now two of them don't work. arrg! laundy and twister. Do not join traffic laundry or vs-twister just yet as their referral links are broken. I'll try and get them to fix this.

This exchange gets 2 stars from me. It is rife with frame breakers and redirects. But you can advertise almost any website you want. Take the good with the bad here. :P I have been reporting every single problem site to them so hopefully they will take those out. If they do this will become a five star auto serf and that is why I have posted them in here. Join and help kick out the members that are cheating. Oh oh looks like the image broke. I'll come back later and fix this.

Do not waste your time with Google sites or Google blogger. The dumb nuts have filled the sites with re-direct, iscript codes and frame breaker codes. Ugg so many hours wasted.Blog.com is bad it can not handle the surge of traffic lots of 504:errors.

Tip of the Day:

Make sure you read every page in your member area as some of these exchanges will just waste your time.  http://thetrafficlaundry.com/ A nice exchange right? HA!  Free members have to surf 100 pages a day for 30 days! Hum they are set for paid accounts only. So don't bother wasting your time with them.

If they can't give the hits free then that makes me wonder what sneaky stuff they would pull on a member that upgraded? Still if you decide to use their exchange, there are no pop ups, slide in pop ups, re-directs, message boxes, or other annoyances. So except for the strange free member restrictions they would have passed my testing.

Most exchanges do not pass my testing, but I will try any exchange if it looks good. If you have a traffic exchange, were you'd like a another member email me at vaporlight AT aol DOT com If it is a new exchange. (or an old one that is being bombarded with cheaters.)

And you need help getting rid of the cheating members, I am your girl! Just keep up with it as i will report every violation, and if need be submit screen shots for very sneaky websites. I will actually sit on my computer and watch the sites, if I didn't there would be no point for this blog. ;)

If you are good with code, please consider the following:  Sites that re-direct break the frame and rely on short timers to avoid getting caught. Because when a member uses the back button the exchange surf bar goes straight to a new site and the offending site gets away scott free, while innocent sites get reported!

Make the coding so that when ever the frame is broken and when a member uses their back button that the timer stays frozen on the last site. Along with a warning on the top of the frame asking members to report the frame breaker. That should work right? Then have them manualy re-fresh their browser. If all auto exchanges do this, it would cause all members to keep a close eye on there sites. Thus increasing the vaule of the visters per website in roataion. :) If anyone uses this idea please credit this website thank you.

I really prefer traffic exchanges with 20 to 30 second timers if I can get them. Am willing to sit there and watch the sites for that long if it means mine will also be watched the same amount =D Longer is better, not shorter!
